The Lord Kitchener Auditorium, NAPA, Port-of-Spain was the venue on August 9 for a farewell performance by the T&T delegation heading to Barbados for the 13th annual Carifesta Festival. Hosted by the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, the evening’s programme was billed as A Carifesta Concert and Craft Display and, aside from the artistes, local craftspeople showcased the items they will be taking to the Land of the Flying Fish.
Among the artistes performing were Neval Chatelal, National Theatre Arts Company, Tobago Heritage Dancers, Newtown Playboys Steel Ensemble, North West Laventille Cultural Movement, Derron Sandy and Janelle Pundit.
Carifesta will be held on August 17-27.
