
The fifth form students of Presentation College, Chaguanas will be representing T&T at the First Global Challenge in Washington DC from July 14 to July 19.
This Olympiad-styled international robotics competition will see the three students, Avidesh Marajh, Fahad Hosein and Josef Gonzalez, flying the national colours of T&T among teams from 160 countries.
The First Global organisation is a US-based not-for-profit group whose goal is to generate interest in Stem (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and to drive youths to innovate and create technology-led solutions for global social issues.
The theme of this year’s competition is Providing Access to Safe and Clean Drinking Water.
Teams were responsible for designing a robot to complete engineering tasks tied to the theme.
The team will be accompanied by their mentors Daniel Ramsook, Vikash Marajh and Shastri Ram.
