Handbags with flair and sophistication; that’s what the Tobago firm Cee Wee Designs produces, and its latest designs will be on show at the upcoming Tobago Jazz Experience and Tobago Fashion Coda events. Tobago Fashion Coda is an all-inclusive fashion event to be held at the Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort on April 21.
Cherie Warner, creative director at Cee Wee designs, is the force behind these handbags. Cee Wee Designs made its first public appearance in 2013 at the Tobago Jazz Experience with its fledgling collection Rustic Yet Refined, featuring handbags made entirely of burlap with a variety of tribal prints and patterns in natural jute fibres. Since then, it has presented two collections at Caribbean Fashion Week held in Kingston, Jamaica, in 2014 and 2015.
This year’s collection, called Crosswalk…Stepping Over in Style introduces new material, textures and tones. Elegant, strong combinations of black and white bags create stylish expressions for women who are not afraid to stand out, said Warner in a recent media release on her products. She notes that one of her signature clutches was photographed several times in the arms of R&B vocalist India Arie, and said Cee Wee Designs cherishes every chance to promote Tobago talent to the world.
