YoProTT partners with the Richard Sutherland Wells Foundation to create awareness about Human Rights and Human Trafficking regionally.
During a season when a lot of the focus is on celebrating the holidays and spending time with family, a lot of charitable causes take the time to remind the public about those less fortunate.
This holiday season, YoProTT is no different, however, the group YoProTT has chosen to create awareness around those impacted by human trafficking.
By partnering with the Richard Sutherland Wells Foundation, YoProTT hopes to address an issue in society that is not only relevant, but its importance is growing, a release said.
Over the past two months, there have been no less than three cases of human trafficking and human rights-related issues brought to light by the local media.
When brought to the attention of YoPro Global’s CEO, Dr Ty Richardson, he addressed it with YoProTT’s acting general manager, Brett Torina, and together they chose to make that the focus of their final 2015 event experience in T&T.
“We are an organisation premised on educating young professionals and socialising them so they are fully contributing members of society and can advance not just themselves, but their communities.”
“Bringing awareness to a cause such as this only serves to reinforce that YoPro is committed to giving a voice to every individual in society and is on a mission to create sustainable and progressive communities where everyone has a fighting chance to succeed,” the YoProTT CEO said.
On December 10, which is Human Rights Day across the world, YoProTT and the Richard Sutherland Wells Foundation, led by Camille Sears-Carter Wells, will partner to host a holiday ball to commemorate the day.
The Ball and auction, held at Joseph’s Restaurant in Rookery Nook, Maraval will begin ten days before with an online auction and continue into the event. At the event, attendees will experience art, music, food and entertainment.
Many of the auction items will be experiential, which means attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the item, whether it’s an art painting they paint or a dessert they dress; and others can be used as Christmas presents and personal shopping.
Acting general manager Brett Torina said: “We’ve been working closely with Camille and the Richard Sutherland Wells Foundation team these past few months on this experience.
“They are not only passionate about the cause, but are committed to honoring the memory of the late Richard Wells at this event. We at YoPro are excited and honored to be able to partner and support this cause.”
