Laughter is good for the soul and, with the “silly season” approaching fast, our country—more than ever—is in need of a hearty laugh. In comes Raymond Choo Kong Productions and First Instinct with Wide Swap, a brand new comedy designed to relieve your stress and send you home grinning.
“Living is easy, comedy is hard,” said Laurence Olivier, and no quote has ever been truer, and the craft of the director, Raymond Choo Kong has never been stronger. He milks and fine-tunes the art that is comedy in Wife Swap, bringing his 30-plus years of experience to the table, passing on his expertise to a new generation of actors, and more than ever, introducing a new generation of audience members to quality comedy theatre.
Stage veterans Choo Kong and Cecilia Salazar lead a troop of players like no other, inclusive of Rachel Walter and Keino Swamber who are hilarious. Bringing up the rear, the youngest of the bunch, are Trevon C Jugmohan (also producer) and Jeanine Lee Kim and they will warm your hearts and have you in stitches.
Wife Swap is no ordinary comedy; it is Trini Comedy; it is Bacchanal Comedy; it is Choo Kong Comedy. And, it’s on for three nights only at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (Sapa), corner Todd Street and Rienzi-Kirton Highway, San Fernando this weekend, on July 10-12.
