Jim Burrell, assistant vice president at the American Honda Motor Company, has described ANSA Automotive’s decision to introduce compressed natural gas cars to its fleet as a clear indication of its commitment towards a cleaner environment.

On Tuesday, Classic Motors, a division of ANSA Automotive, unveiled the Honda City CNG b-fuel sedan at its Port-of-Spain, showroom.

Burrell said: “We are proud to partner with the nation of T&T in this leading effort to develop cleaner alternatives for powering automobiles, and set a standard for the rest of the Caribbean to follow. And, as part of our partnership, we are also announcing the opportunity to donate the Honda City CNG bi-fuel to the T&T Government’s National Energy Skills Centre for the training of future CNG vehicle technicians.

“Truly, with the natural gas that is native to this country, and our great new City CNG vehicle, we can provide the joy and freedom of mobility and help create a sustainable society where people can enjoy life.” “In other words, we can work together to ensure ‘blue skies’ for the children of T&T.”

“Trinidad is an important market for Honda. We are very proud to be represented here by our long-standing distributor ANSA McAL Group. Jerome Borde and the team at Classic Motors are a shining star for Honda in the Caribbean and throughout Latin America.

“Our business activities are guided by Honda’s global environmental vision, which is to provide the joy and freedom of mobility and a sustainable society where people can enjoy life.”

Burrell said the Honda Civic was created with a clean-burning engine, which began with the company’s legacy of environmental innovation and leadership for more than four decades.

Since then, he said, Honda has been producing and marketing a variety of vehicles using less fuel and producing fewer emissions.

This now included low emission petrol engines, hybrid vehicles, battery electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles and the all-new Honda City CNG, which uses clean-burning natural gas.
